Under the auspices of the Greek Ministries of Rural Development and Food and Education, Religious Affairs and Sports, as well as the Region of Crete, OpenEARTH 2024 is dedicated to making scientific knowledge accessible and impactful.

Continuing the tradition established at the first OpenEARTH conference in 2020, which also emphasized strong social engagement, this year’s conference aligns with the European Commission’s directives on Open Science and Citizen Engagement by offering interactive workshops and community-focused events.

Activities such as Climate Adaptation Tool workshops, school and urban gardening, roof gardening sessions, and the student artistic competition on Soil Conservation allow participants to engage directly with sustainable solutions.

OpenEARTH 2024 champions a vision of science that benefits both knowledge and society, empowering attendees with actionable insights in line with EU goals for public engagement in research.
